Transportation issues have always been tough in Pakistan, particularly in some of the biggest cities, including Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Larkana, and other cities in the Sindh province. With no adequate and efficient public transportation, people have used private vehicles or lesser quality vans and minibuses over the years; all leading to congestion and accidents, resulting in pollution. To tackle these challenges, the Government of Sindh initiated the People Bus Service Project under the Sindh Mass Transit Authority (SMTA). This service started in Karachi and now has expanded to other cities. In addition, through the service, new routes for People Bus will be introduced and newer buses (including electric buses) and features will improve the overall commuting experience in 2025.
